Zircon Transport will develop its IP relating to a fully autonomous transport system, eliminating the need for the reliance on wifi, satellite connectivity, and the need for electronic traffic lights and road signage such as stop and give-way.
The fully Automated transport system enables vehicles to track along a path of a lane via triangulation of multiple road reference devices positioned in the centre and on the surface of each lane of a roadway.
Each vehicle will have both transmitters and receivers on the front and rear that send and receive information to the road reference devices transmitter and receiver such as speed, direction, stop, and position relative to the lane.
The system does not rely on Wi-Fi and or GPS positioning devices although these technologies can be incorporated to providing higher safety levels of redundancy.
Other technologies such as range finders and lidar provide the vehicle with distance to an object providing collision avoidance mechanisms.
